About Me

Joaquin Galindo

Hi, I’m Joaquín Galindo, a young student from Panama who believes that leadership begins at home and is reflected in everyday actions. I grew up learning that serving others isn’t just something you do — it’s a way of life.

My family taught me the value of empathy and commitment. Through community service and volunteering with organizations like the Luz del Ciego Foundation and Operation Smile, I discovered how meaningful it can be to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

That experience inspired me to found NeXT, a basketball foundation that creates safe spaces for youth in high-risk neighborhoods. On the court, I’ve learned discipline, teamwork, and resilience — values that I bring to everything I do.

I’m also passionate about learning and innovation. I’m fascinated by how artificial intelligence and business leadership can transform organizations and create opportunities for change. Programs like Georgetown Entrepreneurship, the Johan Cruyff Institute, and the Potenzia AI Intensive have fueled my curiosity and strengthened my desire to lead with purpose.

Outside the classroom, I deeply value the friendships that have shaped who I am and the lessons learned through shared experiences. Whether on the water or on the court, I’ve learned that true leadership means staying focused and steady, even when things change.

As I apply to Texas Christian University (TCU), I’m excited to explore new paths, discover my passions, and continue growing as a leader. I’m ready to bring my energy, creativity, and spirit to the Horned Frog community.
